In one week we will be in Guatemala! As our team makes the journey to Guatemala, we ask you as our friends and family to pray for us, in both travel and ministry.
*We ask for prayer in all of our travels from plane rides, walks, and mostly the crazy Guatemalan van rides! (The van rides may or may not have been sarcastic, I'll leave that up to your own imagination.)
*Pray for our team both in health and unity. That we may have open hearts, ears, eyes, hands; that we would be in tune with what is going on around us.A sense that even as we are reaching out to others and serving others that each on the team would begin to see God’s purposes for going to Guatemala
*Prayer for our in-country partners and hosts: Betty, Dorita, Karla, Sarita, Pastor Manuel and his family.
Some daily specific prayers:
Sunday: As we travel from all of our different locations (Minneapolis, New York, North Carolina... I believe that is all!) pray for travel safety, efficiency through the various security and customs checkpoint and that all of our personal and team ministry bags would arrive with us.
Monday: We will be in Guatemala City working at Precious Moments school, near the city dump. We will be doing a story with the kids and then having a teacher appreciation lunch. We hope to make the teachers feel appreciated for the work that they are doing with these children!
Tuesday through Friday: We will be spending the majority of our time both at the orphanage and doing home visits. Pray for relationship building opportunities with the staff and nuns at the orphanage. That they see Jesus love for them through what we are doing. The team will work on projects, teach English and play with babies! While on home visits, we hope to share the love of Jesus to those who may have never heard.
Saturday: We will be hosting a family day for the Sumpango Church. We will have a photo booth, and fun carnival games: Bean Bag Toss, 3 Legged Race, Balloon Pop, Bowling, etc. We hope to give those who attend a fun day of bonding with their families. We will attend a church service that evening.
Sunday: Most of the team will be leaving for home while a few stay an extra day and spend the day at the Sumpango Church.
